Perhaps the single most important word in the Bible is the word HEAR. The Old Testament Hebrew word is Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. As Hebrew boys, this was the first passage of Scripture they memorized. In the New Testament, Christ said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." Hear this, everything changes when we hear from God and then act upon that word. The spring water of eternal life flows from the Kingdom's power and His authority. The source of all wisdom, all understanding and all life comes forward when we hear, obey and do.
The most important thing in a prayer life is simply this: get to a "secret" place and then be silent. Things do not change when you talk to God. Things change when God talks to you. Hear His voice and don't leave until you do.
